Tubeless Tyre
tyres
A tubeless tyre sits directly on the rim with no inner tube. Liquid sealant inside the tyre fills small punctures as they happen, allowing the rider to continue without stopping in many cases.
Tubeless setups need:
- A tubeless-ready (or tubeless-compatible) rim
- A tubeless-ready tyre
- Tubeless rim tape (to seal the spoke holes)
- A tubeless valve
- Sealant
Tubeless allows lower pressures without pinch flats, generally improving grip and comfort. Trade-offs include more involved setup, periodic sealant top-up, and the possibility of harder repairs when sealant doesn't seal a larger cut.
