Schrader Valve

A Schrader valve is the same type of valve used on car tyres. It's wider than a Presta valve and is common on cheaper bikes, hybrid bikes, mountain bikes, and BMX.
Schrader advantages:
- Universally compatible with car / petrol-station pumps.
- Robust valve mechanism.
- Easy for beginners to use.
Schrader considerations:
- Requires a wider hole in the rim, which can weaken light rims slightly.
- Less common on high-performance road and gravel wheels.
- Most pumps work with Schrader, but some performance pumps are Presta-only without an adapter.
