eTap is SRAM's wireless electronic shifting system, now branded under the AXS ecosystem. Each derailleur has its own removable battery, and the shifters communicate wirelessly with the derailleurs.
eTap uses a "double-tap" logic: pressing both shift paddles together shifts the front derailleur. Right paddle alone shifts to a harder gear, left to an easier gear. The AXS app allows customisation of shift behaviour, mode swaps, and integration with other AXS components.
